Easy & Delicious Homemade Ice Cream Recipe
One of my favorite parts of warmer weather is getting to enjoy delicious homemade ice cream. Making ice cream has become a special tradition for our family for years. The summer after my husband and I married, we ate so much homemade ice cream that it could have been our part time job! But sometimes the trouble of getting the ice and salt ready for a traditional ice cream maker is more than I am willing to do!
An Easier Way to Make Homemade Ice Cream
However, several years ago, I found an awesome little counter-top Ice cream maker by Cuisinart and making homemade ice cream has forever changed for me! Now, you might say this is the lazy woman’s way out, but this little appliance has made making ice cream a breeze! My ice cream maker only makes 1.5 quarts of ice cream at a time, so it isn’t quite as big as I would like, but having an extra bowl is a great way to make sure you have enough ice cream (and maybe another flavor)!
An Easier Recipe for Homemade Ice Cream
I used to be intimidated by homemade ice cream recipes because so many of them call for eggs and I was unsure of how they would turn out. But before I was married, I was given a wonderful recipe for ice cream that is super simple and can be altered to make just about any kind of flavor that you can imagine and… NO EGGS!!!
I use this recipe all the time (it’s pretty much the only recipe I use)! I love experimenting with different ingredients to try to re-create some of my favorite treats! But, my oldest son and I are very partial to the Cherry Chocolate Chip version! You just HAVE to try it!
Try out this simple recipe and I think you will be hooked! And just maybe you might need a handy little counter-top ice cream maker of your own! This recipe is for 4 quart ice cream freezers. If using a 1.5 quart counter top maker like mine, you can half the recipe.
